Basketball demands that players be strong, quick, agile, and have great speed endurance. Joint and tendon injuries are very common among basketball players. Proper strength training will help maximize injury prevention by strengthening soft connective tissue and joints. Your training objectives should be focused on developing strength, takeoff power, agility, acceleration power, and muscle/power endurance. Consider doing what is known as interval training, as this would have an incredible carryover to your performance on the court.
