racquetball

Racquetball demands very short bursts of 3-5 steps, very quick changes of direction, balance and hand eye coordination.  The best racquetball players move quickly and efficiently to the ball with their hips and shoulders 'loaded' and ready to be released into the stroke.  (Compare it to baseball batting, if you had to sprint from the on-deck circle to home plate as the pitch is being delivered.)  Then after hitting the ball, players must recover and move quickly into center court ready to move again in any direction. (Unlike tennis which involves mostly lateral movement).  Racquetball movement is not just about getting to the ball, but also how you arrive when you get there.
